Clare Marshall ~ Instructor

Clare Marshall qualified as a physiotherapist with a BSc Honours degree in 1993 from Coventry University. Since that time she has worked mainly with the rehabilitation of adults and the older person. This includes rehabilitation following acquired brain injuries such as stroke, and other neurological conditions, for example multiple sclerosis. She has been involved with general rehabilitation of people suffering from multiple injuries and conditions, including osteoarthritis and osteoporosis. She has also taught an exercise group for the maintenance of ankylosing spondylitis. In April 2005 she completed the year long ‘Foundation Training Program for Teachers of Pilates’ at the Tring Pilates Studio and qualified as a Pilates instructor; Clare has since integrated Pilates into her physiotherapy practice.

Clare says:
I have found Pilates to be fantastic in the rehabilitation of many conditions. It is so versatile and can be adapted for the individual needs. Each individual can exercise in a way that is appropriate, specific and challenging for them. It can address muscle imbalance and shortness, and improve posture, balance and coordination. It is also an excellent way in which to manage stress. Overall it is a comprehensive and holistic approach to exercise.’
