Veronique Coignac ~ Proprietor

Veronique Coignac has been involved in the performing arts since she took ballet lessons as a teenager in the south of France. She continued her training in ballet and contemporary dance until, in 1982, she was accepted for a dance degree at the Laban Centre, University of London.

It was while studying here that Veronique was first introduced to the Pilates technique while seeking help for a persistent injury problem. A short course at the Body Control Studio in the Pineapple Centre, Covent Garden, not only corrected the problem but inspired Veronique to learn more about Pilates and she started training with Alan Herdman in his London studio. After graduating from the University of London in 1985 Veronique continued her Pilates training and became a teacher in Alan’s studio, in 1988 she worked at the Body Control Studio in Covent Garden.

A period of international travel brought about by following her husband’s career saw Veronique running Pilates classes in places as far apart as Damascus, Syria and Aberdeen, Scotland.

Now settled in the Tring area, Veronique opened the very successful “Tring Pilates Studio” in September 2000 and has clients from all over Herts, Beds and Bucks. She has also run Pilates classes for students at the Arts Educational School in Tring.

Veronique continues to increase her knowledge of Pilates by regularly attending courses and workshops run by a wide range of Pilates practitioners including the Alan Herdman Studios and Polestar Pilates.
